St. Joseph's Institute of Management (SJIM) is located in Bangalore, India and it is a private graduate school of business. The institute is situated in the heart of metropolitan city Bangalore and it was established in 1968.
It is the institute managed by the members of the Society of Jesus called Jesuits and it is one of the oldest management institutes in the state of Karnataka. In 1996, for a 2 year full-time PGDM program, SJIM secured approval from AICTE, New Delhi.
There are more than 8000 students enrolled at the Post Graduate and Undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Management disciplines and Computer in its four independent Colleges namely:

SJIM secured approval from AICTE, New Delhi, for a two-year full-time PGDM program in 1996.
For offering the Executive PGDM and PGCM programs SJIM got approval from the AICTE in 2007.
SJIM is a part of ‘St. Joseph’s College’ which was established much before the foundation of the University of Madras and St. Joseph’s College was founded in 1844 by the Fathers of the Society of Jesus popularly known as Jesuits.
It is an autonomous college from 1978 it has awarded the ‘College with Potential for Excellence’ and Special Heritage Status by the University Grants Commission and it completed three cycles of NAAC accreditation with ‘A’ Grade.
St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (JIM) is a Jesuit Business School and it is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
SJIM is affiliated to Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu.
The former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is an alumnus of St. Joseph’s College.

Admission Procedure at SJIM
The candidates who are eligible for the course as per the eligibility criteria given above can fill an application form with application fees of Rs.1000.
Before that, an applicant has to appear for an Entrance Test conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) like CAT, XAT or MAT on an all-India basis. Some other entrance tests are also accepted by SJIM.
Candidates who score well in the entrance test will then need to face Group Discussion and followed by that a Personal Interview.
Based on a consistent Entrance Test score, academic performance, and work experience applicants will be shortlisted for PGDM admission.
For Personal Interview and Essay writing at the college campus, the list of shortlisted candidates will be put up on the SJIM website.
Through e-mail or SMS, the individual candidates can be informed.
Eligibility Criteria: For Studying PGDM at SJIM
To become eligible for the admission to PGDM at SJIM applicants need to be graduates from any discipline having at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized university.
Additional 2-year work-experience is also compulsory for EPGDM.

Courses Offered at SJIM
There are 3 different courses at SJIM.
1. Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)
It has two years duration and it is the flagship program of the Institute. The whole program consists of six trimesters. After the third trimester, students take up industry internships for eight weeks. The institute offers dual specialization in Human Resource, Finance, Management, Marketing, and Operations.
2. Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Management (E-PGDM)
This course is for working professionals with at least two years of work experience.
It is of 15 months’ duration.
The core requirements are covered in the subjects taught to students to manage a business or a new venture.
A project work of 10 to 12 weeks is included in the course.
3. Post Graduate Certificate in Management (PGCM)
It is a certificate course of 12 months’ duration in management. A project work of 8 weeks is included in the course.

By the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRFIn 2018), SJIM was listed among the top 3 business schools in Bangalore behind only IIM-B and XIME.

Facilities available at SJIM
SJIM consists of spacious classrooms, modern advance library, wide parking facilities, attractive study area, which are comfortable.
To accommodate conferences, seminars, and workshops, SJIM has a well-furnished Auditorium with good acoustics with a seating capacity of more than 250 members.
To acquire immense knowledge and skills in their trade, the teaching sessions using audiovisual technology and high-tech labs benefits greatly the students.
To learn and handle the latest technologies the computer lab is provided with the latest and high tech machinery and computers.
The Library contains more than 18,300 volumes. National and international Journals and periodicals, as well as digital collections, are available to the students.

The Hostel has 2 big halls which can accommodate a total of 518 students and it also has 2 Blocks with 132 rooms (single and multiple beds).
There are 2 Dining halls with a modern kitchen and the Hostel also provides 2 Messes.
Music Room, Television Room, Visitors’ Room, Reading cum Library Room, a Public Address System, Indoor Games Room, and a Prayer cum Meeting Hall are the other facilities of the hostel.
The canteen facility of the college provides a variety of snacks, tea, and coffee to the students. The Canteen remains open on all working days. In the break time of morning and evening, SJIM provides Tea/Coffee with snacks to the students.
