  In the first three courses ( 1 to 3) students learn the necessary things to become a doctor which covers various fields of chemistry like general, bio-organic, analytical, biological etc., medical and biological physics, microbiology, histology, normal and pathological physiology. These all the subjects build the foundation of skills and knowledge.

  The courses 3 to 5 is a combination of the study of clinical disciplines with the training in the disciplines of diagnostic profile. The students learn about Internal medicine, Surgical diseases, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Infectious diseases etc. They also learn functional diagnosis, radiation diagnosis and radiotherapy.

  At the Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics, allergy and immunology, students do their preparation of specialized disciplines of the specialty ‘Medical Diagnostic work’. Students acquire the skills in following different subjects like Clinical Biochemistry, Hematology, Clinical Allergy and Immunology, Coagulation, Cytology, Immunocytochemistry, molecular biology and genetics etc.

  The faculties at the Gomel state medical university are : Faculty of General Medicine, Faculty of Medical Diagnostics, Faculty of Pre-University Training and the Faculty of General Medicine for Overseas Students, Faculty of Pediatric etc.

• 1. A Belarusian visa is issued to the student upon his/her arrival at Minsk airport in Belarus, because Belarusian embassies are not available in some of the countries.
• 2. If a student presents all the required documents to the University as per the guidelines of the university then a student is issued a visa if he/ she is invited to study in Belarus by the University.

• 4. General Medical Council (GMC, UK)
• 5. Medical Council of India (MCI)
• 6. Australia Medical Council (AMC)
• 7. Education Commission of Foreign medical graduates (ECFMG) of USA

All the students who wish to go to Belarus for study purpose must obtain a study visa. There are minimum chances of a student’s visa getting rejected. Below are the requirements from the Belarusian embassy for most of the countries.

• 1. Completed Visa application form to Belarus.
• 2. Birth certificate and Educational documents of the student.
• 3. 2 color photos, they should not be 6 months older.
• 4. Any other documents which are required by the university
• 5. Medical test results from a recognized medical institute of the country which should include HIV test results also.
• 6. Students should have a valid international passport. It should be valid for minimum 90 days after the expected date of departure.
• 7. University's invitation letter from the Ministry of Education in Belarus to study at Belarus.

The Gomel State Medical University provides very good accommodation facilities to students. There are University hostels and also private accommodations available for students.

GSMU has a well-equipped Gymnasium and other sports facilities which are at a walking distance from the University’s hostel and main building. Some of the other facilities which University provides to students include Indoor Badminton court, football practicing facilities etc. Students can relax and engage themselves in outdoor sports and recreation activities during their free time as the university provides such facilities to them.

One of the largest cities in the Belarus is the Gomel city and it is also one of the largest populated countries of the Belarus. Out of the population of Gomel city most of the people are Belarusians, 10% are Russians and very few are Ukrainians.

The city is very beautiful and clean. There are several schools, a couple of plants, glass manufacture and many other things in the city.
