The document explains how scores obtained across different exam sessions are normalised and outlines the tie-breaking criteria used to prepare the final merit rankings.

AP EAPCET 2026 Normalisation Process Explained

Since the AP EAPCET examination is conducted in multiple sessions, APSCHE follows a standardised normalisation process to ensure fairness across all shifts. Under this method, students' raw scores are adjusted by considering factors such as the average performance and score distribution of each session, thereby placing all test-takers on a common evaluation scale for an equitable comparison.

AP EAPCET 2026 Merit Ranking Criteria Explained

The AP EAPCET 2026 merit ranking will be prepared using a dual-weightage formula. Under this system, 75% weightage is assigned to the student's normalised AP EAPCET score, while the remaining 25% weightage is based on marks obtained in the Intermediate core group subjects.

The guidelines also explain the treatment of negative marks after normalisation. If a qualified student's score in any individual subject becomes negative following the normalisation process, it will be considered zero for that subject. However, the student's overall cumulative score will remain unchanged for merit calculation purposes.

AP EAPCET 2026 Tie-Breaking Criteria Explained

For SC/ST students, who are exempt from the minimum qualifying marks requirement, any overall negative score after normalisation will be treated as zero for the purpose of preparing the initial merit list. However, the original negative fractional value will be retained internally and used, if required, to resolve ties.

If two or more students have the same final combined score, the tie will be resolved in the following order:

  • Higher total marks obtained in AP EAPCET 2026.
  • Higher marks in Mathematics.
  • Higher marks in Physics.

If the tie remains, older students will be given preference based on their date of birth during the admission process.

APSCHE Publishes AP EAPCET 2026 Score Normalisation Guidelines

APSCHE has outlined the score normalisation process to ensure a fair evaluation of students who appeared in different AP EAPCET 2026 exam sessions.

  • The normalisation process is used to minimise variations in difficulty levels across different exam shifts.
  • Students' raw scores are adjusted using a standardised formula based on session-wise performance.
  • The revised scores place all students on a common evaluation scale for equitable comparison.
  • The normalised marks will be considered while preparing the AP EAPCET 2026 merit list and final ranks.
  • The detailed normalisation guidelines have been published by APSCHE ahead of the result declaration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ques: Why has APSCHE introduced the normalisation process for AP EAPCET 2026?

Ans: APSCHE uses the normalisation process to ensure fairness among students who appeared in different exam sessions by adjusting scores for variations in difficulty levels.

Ques: How are AP EAPCET 2026 merit ranks prepared?

Ans: The final merit ranks are prepared by giving 75% weightage to the student's normalised AP EAPCET score and 25% weightage to marks obtained in the Intermediate core group subjects.

Ques: What happens if a student's score becomes negative after normalisation?

Ans: For a qualified student, any negative score in an individual subject after normalisation is treated as zero, while the overall cumulative score remains unchanged for merit calculation.

Ques: What is the tie-breaking criterion for AP EAPCET 2026?

Ans: In case of a tie, preference is given based on higher AP EAPCET marks, followed by Mathematics marks, Physics marks, and finally, the older student based on date of birth.

Ques: When is the AP EAPCET 2026 result expected?
