NBEMS Cancels NEET PG Results of 22 CandidatesNBEMS Cancels NEET PG Results of 22 Candidates

NBEMS cancelled 22 candidates’ NEET PG results for using unfair means, and a court order. The board has also declared that their NEET PG scorecards are invalid.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has cancelled the NEET PG results of 22 candidates due to the acknowledgement of irregularities in the examination process. Out of these, the results of 21 candidates were annulled as they were found using unfair means in the exam, while the result of one candidate was cancelled due to the order of the Karnataka High Court. Some of these candidates belong to previous years: 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.

What Happened?

According to the official NBEMS notification, the board has declared the results of 22 NEET PG candidates “null and void.” The cancellation news affects multiple examination sessions, as the candidates appeared in multiple exam years:

  • 13 candidates had appeared in NEET PG 2025
  • 3 candidates in 2024
  • 4 candidates in 2023
  • 1 candidate each in 2022 and 2021

NBEMS said the candidates’ scorecards can no longer be used for admissions or jobs.

What NBEMS Said?

The Board stated in the notification:

“Producing the said scorecard and/or result of NEET-PG of the respective session for any purposes, including but not limited to, employment, enrolment, registration, or admission to PG courses, shall be unlawful.”

Summarising, this annulment bars all 22 candidates from using their NEET PG results for any purpose, such as education or employment.

Why It Matters?

NEET PG plays the role of a gatekeeper for Indian medical students who wish to pursue postgraduation in medicine. As the incidents of paper leaks and impersonation in national-level entrance exams rise, the scrutiny over these exams has also tightened. So in this case, by invalidating the results, NBEMS has given a clear message reinforcing the integrity of the medical admission process.

NEET PG 2025: Counselling Delay Despite 1.28 Lakh Qualifiers
