The Governing body HTE – Higher Technical & Medical Education organizes the Medical and Dental admission Counselling in Rajasthan. There are 7 private and 14 government medical colleges having 1150 and 2210 seats respectively. The admissions to state medical colleges of Rajasthan are administered by:
The Counselling is allotted to 85% state Government seats and 15% Private seats. The Counselling process is conducted in 3 rounds whereas the 3rd round is the Mop-up round. The Government seats are allotted to students having the domicile of Rajasthan. Fees in the private medical colleges of Rajasthan may vary from domicile to non-domicile candidates.
As per the Select Your University survey, cut off is found to be higher for OBC students as compared to General category students.
Our team analysis has concluded that the cut off of Government medical colleges is a bit high and therefore allotment of Government seats through All India Quota has become difficult for the students.
Seats acquired through management quota are not a difficult task but the fees are higher. It costs around 20-22 lakhs.

Eligibility Conditions on domicile basis:
If the candidate has been residing with the family in Rajasthan since 10 years with the study period of at least 5 years in any of the recognized institutes of Rajasthan is eligible to apply under the government quota.
Students who are studying in the other states but having the bonafide of Rajasthan are also eligible for the allotment process.
The candidate whose parent is the retired employee of the Government of Rajasthan is also eligible to apply.
The candidate whose parent is the retired/permanent employee of any state university or Secondary Board Higher Education is eligible to apply.
The candidate whose parent is the person of paramilitary services/Indian defense and having the posting in Rajasthan is eligible to apply through state or government quota.
