
Szent Istvan University (SZIU) was founded in 2000 by the merger of the University of Veterinary Science in Budapest, the Teachers’ Training College of Jászberény, Ybl Miklós Technical College, and the University of Agriculture in Godllo.
It is one of Hungary’s largest and most famous institutions of higher education. In 2009, Tessedik Sámuel College and SZIE merged into each other as well.
The university headquarters are located primarily in Godllo, but there are altogether 7 different faculties for study and research in Budapest, Godllo, Georgikon, Kaposvár, Károly Róbert Campus, Szent István Campus and Szarvas host approximately 16000 students.
