CBSE Class 12 Board Exams 2026 have received a major change in the evaluation process. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that it will implement On-Screen Marking (OSM) for Class 12 answer book checking. This policy will be implemented in CBSE board exam 2026 results.


Affiliated schools have been communicated on the same on 9 February 2026. Recently, the board has revised CBSE Board exam 2026 schedule. The move comes as a remedy to improve the following in the assessment process:

This change is for CBSE class 12 exam only. CBSE Class 10 answer books will continue to be evaluated in physical mode.

From the CBSE Class 12 Board Exams 2026:

  • Answer scripts will no longer be physically transported for checking. 
  • They will be scanned and evaluated digitally through the On-Screen Marking system.

Class 10 Board Exams 2026: No Change

Class 10 answer books will be evaluated in the physical mode only, as CBSE clarified for the CBSE board exam 2026.

A major update in CBSE board exam Class 10 is that it will be conducted twice a year.

  • The first exam (mandatory) begins: 17 February
  • The second exam: 15 May to 1 June
  • Both exams will follow the same syllabus.
