  • As per the official schedule, the CBSE Class 10 Phase 1 Exams will commence on 17th February 2026 and conclude on 10th March 2026.


The CBSE Class 10 Exam 2026 official date sheet has been released by the CBSE on 30th October 2025. Students can check the date sheet on the official website - cbse.gov.in. The Class 10 exams are scheduled to begin on 17th February 2026 for Phase 1 and on 15th May 2026 for Phase 2, as per the official exam schedule.

The Phase 1 CBSE Class X Board Exam will be conducted from 17th February 2026 to 10th March 2026, while the Phase 2 CBSE Class X Board Exam will be held from 15th May 2026 to 1st June 2026. The Phase 1 exam is mandatory for all the students while the Phase 2 Exam will be optional and those who wish to improve their marks can appear for Phase 2 as per NEP 2020.

The students who appear for both Phase 1 and Phase 2, will be allowed to retain the score from their best of two attempts. The students should note that although the CBSE Class X Board will be conducted twice, internal marks will be awarded only once and will be considered final.


New CBSE Exam Pattern 2025-26

  • Exam Frequency: CBSE board exams will now be conducted twice a year, February–March and May–June sessions.
  • Improvement Chance: Students can appear for up to three subjects for improvement attempts.
  • Exam Focus: The exams will shift from rote learning to a conceptual and competency-based assessment.
  • Evaluation System: Introduction of digital evaluation with QR-coded answer sheets for transparency and accuracy.
  • Attendance Requirement: 75% attendance is now mandatory for all students to be eligible for board exams.

The CBSE Class X Board Exam is a national level exam conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education for class 10 students in India. The exam is seen as one of the most important academic milestones in student life. The successful completion of the examination marks the end of secondary education and determines eligibility for admission into senior secondary classes (Grades 11 and 12).

The exam assesses students on Class 9 and Class 10 learning. The exam evaluates the students on the basis of academic knowledge, skills, critical thinking, memorization, application and problem solving.
