The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training, UP, organizes document verification for Uttar Pradesh NEET counselling. It is an offline procedure followed by the result of the NEET. After the NTA declares the results of NEET, the counselling process starts with 2-3 weeks for seat allocation for the students who have been fit for that particular college or university. 

It is a mandatory process where students have to report to the particular college where they have been selected as per the cutoffs, and they must carefully attest to all the documents and carry them in hard copy. This blog will clear all your doubts regarding documentation.


List of Documents Required

Here is the list of documents, which you have to carry with you to the campus physically in hard copy (not in soft copy).

  • NEET Admit Card
  • NEET Score Card
  • 10th Certificate
  • 12th Marksheet
  • Caste Certificate
  • Domicile Certificate
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Medical Certificate
  • Photo ID.

Domicile Certificate

Required for local candidates; issued by the state authority.

Transfer Certificate

If changing schools or colleges.(mandatory)

Medical Certificate

If applicable, for any reported health issues.

Photo ID

Valid government photo ID such as Aadhaar or PAN Card.


How to Do Document Certification?

Here are the steps for document verification mentioned below- 

Step 1: Register Online

  • Visit the official website of UP NEET UG counselling.
  • Fill out the online registration form.
  • Students need to pay the registration and security fees via online mode.
  • After successful registration, download the Registration Slip and Verification Letter (this will have your allocated center information).

Step 2: Visit the allocated Center

  • Visit the allotted Center on the scheduled date and time.
  • Carry all original documents in hard copy along with 2–3 photocopies of each.
  • Bring passport-size photographs (as per NEET form, avoid taking pictures in black or blue clothes).

Step 3: Get Your Documents Verified

At the center:

  • Officials will check all your documents and verify them.
  • If everything is valid, they will stamp/sign your photocopies and keep a set.
  • You’ll be marked as "Verified" in the system.

Step 4: Proceed with Choice Filling

  • After document verification, you’ll be eligible to fill choice of your college or university online and seat selection.
  • Without verification, you can’t move towards the next round.


Where Does It Happen?

In UP, the document verification process is conducted by DGME. This takes place in the different centres of UP, which will be mentioned in your verification letter after successful online registration.


Why is it Important?

It is very important and mandatory step, if you skip this step you will be removed from the list and someone else will get admission on your seat, you have to go for documentation for locking your seat in the college or university, otherwise you will be missing out the admission opportunity even after eligible with good NEET scores.


When Does It Happen?

As per the past trends, it will be scheduled right after online registration and choice filling. It may take a few days after the registration. Keep checking the official UP NEET website for updated timelines.

  • Make sure to double-check your document checklist, and remember to take extra copies of documents.
  • Arrange all your documents in the order specified above.
  • Keep your originals and duplicates with you at the time of documentation.
