Steps to Select GATE 2027 Exam Cities on GOAPS

Students can select their preferred GATE 2027 exam cities while completing the online application form through the GOAPS portal by following these steps:

  • Visit the official GOAPS portal.
  • Register using the required details to generate your Enrollment ID and Password.
  • Log in and fill in your personal, academic, and contact information.
  • Choose up to six preferred exam cities from the same GATE zone as per your preference.
  • Upload the required documents, including your photograph, signature, and other prescribed certificates.
  • Pay the application fee through the available online payment modes and submit the application form.

After successful submission, download and save the application confirmation page for future reference. The final exam centre will be allotted by IIT Madras based on the student's selected city preferences and administrative availability for GATE 2027.


GATE 2027: Exam Centres Available for Foreign Students

Foreign nationals and Indian citizens residing abroad are eligible to apply for GATE 2027 by paying the prescribed application fee of ₹2,000 per test paper. However, all students must choose their examination cities within India, as IIT Madras will not conduct the GATE 2027 examination at any international test centres.

Students should keep the required documents ready before starting the GATE 2027 registration process to ensure a smooth application experience.

  • Recent scanned passport-size photograph (as per prescribed specifications)

Note: Students belonging to the OBC-NCL and EWS categories are not required to upload category certificates during the GATE 2027 registration process.


GATE 2027: Registration, Late Fee Window and Exam Dates Explained

The GATE 2027 registration process will begin on August 14, 2026, and students can submit their applications without a late fee until September 21, 2026. Students who miss the regular deadline will still be able to register by paying the prescribed late fee until September 30, 2026, through the GOAPS portal.
