West Bengal MBBS Admission 2026 Counseling Process

The seat allotment in West Bengal’s medical colleges for MBBS courses is based on the counseling conducted by the WBMCC. This process is held in four rounds, the last one being a stray vacancy round. Depending on your rank, you will get one of the colleges you chose during the choice-filling process.

What if you get multiple colleges but not the one you prefer the most? In that case, you can choose one of them or apply for the next round of counseling. If you choose the latter, you might have some chance of getting your most preferred college this time based on your All India Rank.

However, you will have to give up all the seats you got in the first round if you choose to move to the subsequent rounds. In case you fail to get seats in the first two rounds, you may still get one in the mop-up round. A stray vacancy round is held after the three rounds if any more vacancies remain.
