Overview

Jorhat Medical College (JMC) is a state government-sponsored medical institution in Jorhat, Assam. This was the fourth medical college in the state and was established on 12 October 2009.The college is accredited by the Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences and is part of the NMC (National Medical Commission). The college has  been ranked number 8 out of 45 medical colleges within the state of Assam.

JMC offers the MBBS program that accepts 125 students through the NEET-UG entrance examination. There are also postgraduate programs (MD/MS) in many specialties. and admission to the PG Program is based on NEET-PG results. The college also offers paramedical and nursing courses. 

The JMC does not have central placements, JMC graduates are mostly employed in government hospitals and research centers, and also choose to undergo further studies. In spite of not officially revealing figures on the highest package and average package, alumni of the college are employed in high public health departments, reputed hospitals, and NGOs all over India.
