Overview

National Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, NIMS University, is a private medical education institution situated in Jaipur. Set up in 2004, the institute has been recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), Dental Council of India (DCI), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Indian Nursing Council (INC) and Bar Council of India (BCI). 

The NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) has approved the institute. The NIRF 2024 reports included NIMS at the top of the 151–200 band under the Overall category. 

The institute has many popular courses at UG, PG, Advanced Master and Doctorate levels in Medicine and Health Sciences, ranging from MBBS, MD, MS, DM, M.Ch., M.Sc. and Ph.D.

Applicants for the MBBS programme are admitted through their scores on both the NEET and Rajasthan NEET exams. Students have to pay approximately INR 1.02 crore in total MBBS fees which cover tuition, hostel and the first year’s charges. 

Students have to pay INR 85.5 lakhs just for the tuition during the 66-month course. The fees for PG courses such as MD, MS and DM are between INR 1.5 lakhs and INR 2.1 crores.

All applicants seeking admission to the MBBS program at NIMS University must take the NEET UG exam. Candidates must sign up for NEET and go through counselling to get a seat.


All applicants are required to have obtained at least 50% in their Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 10+2. Besides, each student must pass the NEET UG exam by achieving the set minimum marks.

No such institutional scholarships as the ₹500/month special scheme are not available to MBBS students. Yet, students at MBBS schools are able to get government scholarships depending on their category and how much they earn.
