National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, Bangalore is a government-run neuroscience institution for higher education situated in Bengaluru, Karnataka. It is also a tertiary care referral center for mental, neurological, and neurosurgical disorders. It was established in 1974 as a neuroscience education institution. NIMHANS is the first INI institution accredited by NABH, UGC, and NMC and affiliated with the University of Mysore. NIMHANS was declared a deemed university in 1994.
