National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, Bangalore is a government-run neuroscience institution for higher education situated in Bengaluru, Karnataka. It is also a tertiary care referral center for mental, neurological, and neurosurgical disorders. It was established in 1974 as a neuroscience education institution. NIMHANS is the first INI institution accredited by NABH, UGC, and NMC and affiliated with the University of Mysore. NIMHANS was declared a deemed university in 1994. NIMHANS is recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. Its foundation was established by amalgamating the Mysore State Mental Hospital and the All India Institute of Mental Health.

Admissions

National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences Bangalore admissions are based on 50% in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology for the bachelor’s program, whereas 50% in graduation with a valid entrance exam score.
