Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research Admission Process

PGIMER admissions are done through the entrance score. UG candidates who wish to apply to the university are required to pass Class 12 with specific aggregate percentage. Candidates should also have a valid mark in the INICET entrance examination to MD/ MS/ MCh/ DM. The INICET is carried out by AIIMS, New Delhi. Admission into MS/MD courses is done twice a year and the new session commences in January and July annually. The step-by-step process to PGI Chandigarh admission is as below:

Step 1: Application: The candidates should apply online via the official site of PGIMER. (pgimer.edu.in/)
Step 2: Selection: The selection is based on the basis of INICET/ PGIMER entrance exam (whichever is applicable) 2025. Then eligible candidates are called in the counselling round based on their rank.
Step 3: Seat Allocation: The candidates have to accept the seat allocated to them online after the counselling round. The allocation of seats is completely according to the All India rank of the candidates, course filled and the availability of seats.

B.Sc Nursing & Paramedical UG Admission

PGIMER has its own entrance exam through which admission is done. The applicants are required to be eligible and perform well in the test in July of 2025. Counseling is followed by reporting in 2025, August.

MD/MS/DM/M.Ch Admissions

PGIMER provides a variety of MD, MS, DM, and M.Ch programs. Selection is done on the basis of INI-CET (All India 50% + PGIMER/ state 50%) and counseling given by AIIMS.

1. Is there any chance of getting admission in PGIMER with B.Sc and 60 percent in 12th Class?

Admission to PGIMER into B.Sc courses is possible with 60 percent marks in Class 12th. Besides, a 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 50 percent in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and English is necessary in B.Sc nursing.
