Regional Institute of Education (RIE) was established in 1963. It is located in Mysore, Karnataka. It is one of the five Institutions established by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). There are four departments that is the Department of Education(DE), the Department of Education in Science and Mathematics(DESM), the Department of Education in Social Science and Humanities(DESH), and the Department of Extension Education(DEE). The other four Institutes are in Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, and Shillong. The University offers various scholarships for different categories of students.
