Overview

The AIIMS PG 2026 (All India Institute of Medical Science Post Graduate) exam will be conducted in CBT mode (Computer-Based Test) across multiple cities in India. There are two sessions for which the exam is held twice a year. AIIMS PG accepted the score of the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI CET). The AIIMS PG admit card will be released one week before the exam.

The INI CET entrance exam 2026 will be held on 1st November 2026 for the January 2026-2027 session. The result notification will be declared on November 7, 2026, for the January session 2026-2027. The colleges accepting marks of INI CET 2026 are as follows: AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER in Chandigarh, NIMHANS in Bangalore, and SCTIMST in Trivandrum.

What is the AIIMS Post Graduate?

The  Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI CET) is a national-level entrance exam that is conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi. The AIIMS PG 2026 syllabus includes Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology. The AIIMS Post Graduate exam pattern includes 90 questions, with each session containing 200 questions. The mode of the exam is online (Computer-Based Test), and a ⅓ negative mark is deducted for each wrong answer, and a +1 mark is given for each correct answer.


AIIMS PG 2026  Application Process

The AIIMS PG 2026 application process will be online. The candidates who fulfil the eligibility requirements have to submit the application form along with the required documents.   • Visit the official AIIMS exam website aiimsexams.ac.in and click the link ‘Register’ on the home page.
  • Complete the registration process by entering your name, date of birth, mobile number, and creating a password. An OTP will be sent to the registered number. Verify and complete the process.
  • Fill in the application form by entering academic details, personal and contact details, and choose your preferred exam centres.
  • Upload the required documents along with passport-sized photographs and signatures in the specified format.
  • Save the registration ID and password. After registration, generate a unique code to proceed with the final registration.
  • Pay the application fee through online mode, credit card, debit card, or net banking, enter academic details, and select the preferred exam centre.
  • Review your application carefully and click the “Submit” option to complete the registration and take a printout of the confirmation page and payment receipt.

AIIMS PG 2026 Admit Card

The AIIMS PG 2026  admit card is the most important document you must carry to the exam centre. The students are not allowed to enter the exam hall without the admit card. The candidate must download the admit card before going to the exam centre.

AIIMS PG 2026 Syllabus

The AIIMS PG 2026 syllabus is the first step toward preparation. The AIIMS PG syllabus is divided into three sections including Pre-Clinical, Para-Clinical, and Clinical. It does not have a fixed syllabus, but based on previous years, the major questions are mostly from these areas. 

  • Pre-Clinical: Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology
  • Para-Clinical: Forensic Medicine, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology,

AIIMS PG 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Students are required to fulfill the AIIMS PG eligibility criteria to participate in the exam. Students must have passed 10+2 in any stream from a recognised board. Refer to the table below to check the eligibility criteria for the AIIMS PG exam.

  • Must have an MBBS or equivalent degree with at least 55% aggregate marks or equivalent grade.


AIIMS PG 2026 Exam Pattern

The AIIMS PG 2026 exam pattern generally covers areas like Pre-Clinical, Para-Clinical, and Clinical, which are conducted online, that is, a Computer-based test. The exam consists of 200 questions. Each right answer carries 1 mark, and a ⅓  mark deduction is applicable for each wrong answer.

Step 1: AIIMS PG registration

After the registration, the candidate needs to log in with the given ID and password. Then, they will have to fill out the preferred college and courses in order of preference. The candidate can make the changes in addition, rearrange, or modify their choices before the final date.  The candidates can check the course-wise, category-wise, and college-wise seat matrix released by the authority at the time of choice filling.

Step 3: Seat allotment

The candidate can check the seat allotment, which will be released on the official website. They can log in with their ID and password to download the AIIMS PG seat allotment letter from the official website. Seats are allotted based on the candidate’s rank, reservation category, and preferences.

Step 4: Seat Acceptance

The candidate who has been allotted a seat is required to accept or reject the seat within the stipulated time.

Step 5: Document verification

The candidate must verify the required documents at the counselling centre. They must carry all the documents with their original and photocopies. The documents will be verified by the authority, and if the documents are correct, the candidate will be given a slip with ID and password.

AIIMS PG 2026 Cutoff

The AIIMS PG 2026 cutoff will be released by AIIMS Delhi after the AIIMS results.  After the exam declaration, AIIMS Delhi will start releasing its cutoff percentile. The cutoff is the minimum marks required for admission in PG courses at AIIMS. The cutoff depends on the number of applicants, exam difficulty level, number of seats available, and applicant category. The candidates can go through the previous cutoff to analyse the cutoff score of the upcoming event.
