Andhra Pradesh Common Law Entrance Test (AP LAWCET) is a state-level law entrance exam conducted by Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati, on behalf of APSCHE. It is held for admission to 3-year and 5-year LLB programs offered by law colleges in Andhra Pradesh. It is built for the admissions in 3-year and 5-year integrated law courses, LLB and LLM. Candidates have to meet the eligibility requirements, which are 45% of marks in the 12th grade. 

The syllabus is divided into three parts: general knowledge and mental ability, current affairs, and aptitude for the study of law. By practising the PQLs and giving mock tests, candidates can ensure that they pass the examination on their first attempt 

They have to score more than 35% in the exam and meet the cut-offs. Only then can they get admission into more than 35  government and private colleges of Andhra Pradesh.

What is AP LAWCET?

Andhra Pradesh Common Law Entrance Test (APLAWCET) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati, on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) for admissions to law courses LLB and LLM, which are offered at Andhra Pradesh Universities and in their affiliated colleges. It is conducted in the Computer-Based Test mode for 90 minutes, and it can only be attempted in either  English or Telugu.

AP LAWCET 2026 Exam Day Guidelines 

Candidates should follow the guidelines issued by the exam authorities carefully in the official PDF. Here are the main key points to remember.

  1. You should carry the hall Ticket (printout), a valid Photo ID (Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID, etc.), and a Black/Blue ballpoint pen with you.
  2. You should visit your test centre in advance and arrange travel before the exam, and check all details on the Hall Ticket for accuracy.
  3. You have to show your Hall Ticket at the gate and in the exam hall, and complete biometric verification (photo & thumb impression).
  4. After the Exam, keep your Hall Ticket until the admission process ends.

Candidates appearing in the AP LAWCET/ PGLCET 2026 exam should wear comfortable clothes on the exam day. The exam authorities will mention the dress code to be followed for the AP LAWCET 2025 exam day and the AP PGLCET 2025 exam day.

  • You should try to wear comfortable and weather-friendly clothes
  • You should avoid wearing any accessory, including a wristwatch, bracelet, etc.
  • The Female candidates can wear a simple kurta with trousers, and male candidates will be allowed to wear a simple shirt with trousers


Things to Avoid During the Exam

Candidates should keep the following points in check for the exam.

1. Entry Restrictions:

• Candidates will not be allowed to enter the Examination Hall without a valid Hall ticket 

Ticket and original ID proof.

• Entry is strictly not permitted after the commencement time (09:00 AM for FN 

and 02:00 PM for AN). Even a delay of one minute will lead to disqualification 

from that session.

2. Exit Restrictions:

• Candidates are not permitted to leave the Examination Hall until the completion 

of the test (12:00 PM for FN and 05:00 PM for AN sessions).

3. Appearance and Attire:

• Avoid applying Mehndi, ink, or any external substances on hands/feet that may 

interfere with biometric verification.

4. Prohibited Items: The following items are strictly prohibited inside the Examination Hall:

▪ Calculators, Mathematical/Logarithmic Tables

▪ Mobile Phones, Pagers, Smart Watches, Digital Watches

▪ Large Spectacles or any suspicious accessories

▪ Loose sheets of paper, books, or any written material

▪ Any electronic gadgets

5. Misconduct:

• Adoption of unfair means, malpractice, or impersonation will lead to cancellation 

of candidature and may attract criminal prosecution.
