Eligibility Details

MBA

Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in any discipline from a recognised university. Minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/SCA of Tamil Nadu).

MCA

Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics at +2 level or graduation level. Minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/SCA of Tamil Nadu).

MCA (Lateral Entry)

BCA or B.Sc. (Computer Science / IT) degree with Mathematics at +2 or graduation. Same mark criteria: 50% (Gen) and 45% (SC/ST/SCA Tamil Nadu).

M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (B.E., B.Tech., B.Arch., B.Plan, MCA, M.Sc.) recognised by AICTE/UGC. Minimum 50% (Gen) or 45% (SC/ST/SCA of Tamil Nadu).

GATE Qualified (Except XE, XL)

Exempted from TANCET. Must have a valid GATE score in the relevant discipline.

GATE Qualified (XE, XL Papers)

Must appear for TANCET despite having a GATE score.

Sponsored Candidates (M.E./M.Tech. only)

Bachelor's degree in relevant field + 2 years full-time work in Govt. org./industry/R&D + Sponsorship letter. No fixed cutoff; eligibility varies by institution.

Final Year Students (All Programs)

Eligible to apply if the final-year result is available at the time of admission.

Distance/Correspondence Degrees

Eligible only if pursued in 10+2+3 format from a UGC/AIU-recognised university.

Community Certificate (for Reservation Claim)

Must be valid and issued by the Tamil Nadu authority to avail SC/ST/SCA relaxation.

NRI / Foreign Nationals

Must fulfil equivalent eligibility criteria through AIU. May need eligibility equivalence certification.

MBA – Reading Comprehension

Short and long passages with questions testing inference, vocabulary, tone, and understanding.

MBA – Quantitative Aptitude

Arithmetic (Time & Work, Profit & Loss, Percentages), Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Number Systems.

MBA – Data Sufficiency

Verbal and numerical problems assessing whether the provided data is sufficient to answer.

MBA – English Usage

Grammar, sentence correction, word usage, synonyms, antonyms, cloze tests, and vocabulary-based questions.

MCA – Quantitative Ability

Algebra, Arithmetic, Geometry, Trigonometry, Probability, Set Theory, Matrices, Number Series.

MCA – Analytical Reasoning

Puzzles, coding-decoding, pattern recognition, blood relations, Venn diagrams, series.

MCA – Logical Reasoning

Logical sequences, statement-assumption, syllogisms, analogies, cause-effect, directions.

MCA – Computer Awareness
