GGSIPU Counselling 2026 Process

GGSIPU Counselling 2026 is a fully online and centralised seat allotment process conducted in five stages. Each stage has a specific deadline, and candidates who fail to complete any step within the stipulated time will lose eligibility for that particular counselling round.

Stage 1: Registration and Document Upload

Students can register for IPU Counselling 2026 through the admission portal using their JEE Main, IPU CET, or CLAT credentials. Students seeking admission to BTech, LLM, and LLB programmes are required to pay a non-refundable counselling fee of ₹2,500. During the registration process, all students must also upload their educational certificates and applicable category-related documents.

Stage 2: Choice Filling

Students can enter up to 50 choices and revise them multiple times before the deadline. The counselling system will consider the last saved preference order once the choice-filling window closes.

Stage 3: Seat Allotment

Seat allotment is determined based on factors such as JEE Main rank for BTech programmes, IPU CET rank for other courses, students' preference order, domicile category, and the availability of seats.

Stage 4: Respond to Allotment (Freeze, Float, or Withdraw)

Students who are allotted seats must exercise one of the available options within the prescribed deadline. Choosing Freeze confirms the allotted seat and removes the student from further rounds of counselling. Selecting Float allows students to retain their current seat while remaining eligible for allotment to a higher-preference choice in subsequent rounds. Opting for withdrawal results in the permanent cancellation of the allotted seat.

Stage 5: Fee Payment and College Reporting

Students who choose the Freeze option are required to pay the admission fee online and report to their allotted college within the specified reporting period for document verification. Admission is confirmed only after the successful completion of the verification process.

Students who select the Float option automatically become eligible for Round 2 and the Sliding Round of counselling. They continue participating in the seat allotment process by repeating the allotment and response stages until they either freeze a seat or exhaust all available counselling rounds.
