Established in 1998, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), also known as IPU University, is one of the most popular public universities in India, located in Delhi NCR. The Govt of NCT of Delhi established the GGSIPU under the provisions of the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Act 1998.
GGSIPU is a UGC recognised university under Section 12B of the UGC Act. It is also recognised by the NMC, and at the same time, GGSIPU accreditation is with NAAC A++. The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has been accredited with a CGPA of 3.56 on the seven-point scale at A++ grade, which is valid from 14th February 2023 for the next seven years. As per the QS World University Rankings 2026, IP University is placed in the 951-1000 rank band.
The GGSIPU course fees range from ₹59,500 to ₹2,71,450 depending on the courses. IP University admission is offered to students for multiple courses. The GGSIPU scholarships offered to the students are the GGSIPU EWS Scholarship, GGSIPU Entrepreneurship Development Programme, GGSIPU Hana Scholarship and GGSIPU Merit-cum-Means Scholarship. The entrance exams required for the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University course admission are the IPU CET, JEE Main and many more. Currently, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has around one lakh students, and last year, 29000 students were admitted to pursue their preferred courses here.

The GGSIPU has three campuses, and these are the Dwarka campus, Surajmal Vihar campus and the university centres. Under the Dwarka campus, 13 colleges are there, while under the Surajmal Vihar campus, five colleges are there. Lastly, under the university centres campus, another five colleges operate.
