The IPU CET 2026 or GGSIPU CET (Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test) exam is expected to be held in April-May 2026, in offline mode across multiple cities in India. The exam registration is expected to be released in February 2026 and will go on till April 2026. The IPU CET admit card is expected to be released in April 2026. The colleges accepting IPU CET scores include Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies, Jagan Institute of Management Studies, Institute of Information Technology & Management, and many others.

In 2024, more than 75,000 students appeared for the exam to get admission across all courses. For BBA, approximately 23,000 students appeared for the exam, and the overall difficulty level of the exam was considered a moderate difficulty level. The cutoff for the previous year for the BCA general category in the Delhi region was 3,500, and outside Delhi, it was 3,000.

What is the IPU CET Exam?

The Indraprashtha University Common Entrance Test (IPU CET) is an all-India-level common entrance exam that is conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprashtha University. It facilitates admission in various undergraduate and postgraduate programs like B.Tech, MBA, or other professional courses at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprashtha University. It is conducted once a year, in a Computer-Based Test mode. The IPU CET 2026 syllabus includes English Language & Comprehension, General Awareness, Logical and Analytical Ability, and Management/Field-related aptitude. The IPU CET exam pattern includes 100 questions with a total of 400 marks, which have to be solved in 3 hours. The mode of the exam is offline, and 1 marks are deducted for every wrong answer and +4 marks for each correct answer.

IPU CET 2026 Application Process

The IPU CET 2026 application process will be online. The candidates who fulfil the eligibility requirements have to submit the application form along with the required documents. The process is completely online through the GGSIPU official website. Refer to the points below to know about the step-by-step application process of the IPU CET exam:

  • Visit the official GGSIPU exam website.
  • Click on the ‘Apply for GGSIPU Registration 2025’ link, and select ‘New Candidate Registration’.
  • Fill in personal details, name, date of birth, contact details, and academic qualifications.
  • Generate the login ID and password for future access to the portal and fill in the details, including course preferences and exam city choices.
  • Upload the documents and recent-sized photographs, and signatures in the specified format.
  • Complete the registration fee payment of ₹ 1,200 via credit card/debit card or net banking.
  • Review your application carefully and click the “Submit” option to complete the registration and take a printout of the confirmation page and payment receipt.

IPU CET 2026: Application Fees

To complete the registration process, students are required to pay a certain amount of registration fees. The candidates have to register and fill in the personal and academic details with document uploads and pay the application fee. The fee of ₹ 1,200 for the IPU CET registration is required to be paid. The application fee of IPU CET is non-refundable.

Students are required to fulfil the IPU CET 2026 eligibility criteria to participate in the exam. Students must have a bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognised university. Refer to the points below to check the eligibility criteria for the IPU CET exam.

  • Educational qualification: Candidates must have passed 10+2 in any stream or equivalent (Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, etc.) with English subject as mandatory from a recognised university or institution.
  • Marks required: Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in graduation, 45% marks for the reserved category.
  • Age criteria: The lower age limit criteria for UG and PG programs should be generally around 17 and 21 years, respectively.

IPU CET Counselling Process 2026

The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprashtha University will conduct the counselling process of IPU CET 2026. Refer to the points below to know about the step-by-step counselling process.

Step 1: IPU CET Registration and Fee Payment

The candidate must register on the official GGSIPU website with a fee payment of ₹ 1000, which should be paid online. After the registration, proceed with the registration process by providing personal and academic details.

Step 2: Choice Filling and Locking

After the document verification, the candidate needs to log in with the given ID and password. Then, they will have to fill out the preferred college and courses in order of preference. The candidate can make the changes in addition, rearrange, or modify their choices before the final date.  The candidates can check the course-wise, category-wise, and college-wise seat matrix released by the authority at the time of choice filling.

Step 3: Seat Allotment

The candidate can check the seat allotment, which will be released on the official website. They can log in with their ID and password to download the IPU CET seat allotment letter from the official website. Seats are allotted based on the candidate’s CET rank, reservation category, and preferences.

Step 4: Fee Payment and Seat Acceptance

The candidate who has been allotted a seat should pay the academic fee online to confirm the seat, and the fee should be paid within the stipulated time. If the candidate fails to pay within the stipulated time, the allotted seat will be forfeited. They can choose the ‘freeze’ option for the allotted seat if they are satisfied with the given seat, or ‘float’ if they want to upgrade in the next round.

Step 5: Document Verification

The candidate must verify the required documents at the counselling centre. They must carry all the documents with their original and photocopies. The documents will be verified by the authority, and if the documents are correct, the candidate will be given a slip with ID and password.
