Central University of Karnataka (CUK), Gulbarga, Karnataka, is a state university established in 2009 with the other 16 new Central Universities. Central University of Karnataka is approved by NAAC, UGC, and AIU. Karnataka Central University ranked in the 151-200 band among Indian universities by NIRF, 39 out of 45 universities by India Today, and 32 out of 50 colleges by IIRF in 2025. It has a total of 10 constituent colleges.

Admissions

Central University of Karnataka admission into various courses is done through CUET. The undergraduate courses demand CUET UG, while the postgraduate courses require CUET PG qualification. Passing Class 12 for UG courses and graduation for PG courses, with a minimum aggregate of 50% for general category (45% for reserved categories), is mandatory for eligibility. Apart from CUET, JEE Main, and KCET for engineering courses, IIT JAM and Karnataka PGCET for MSc courses are accepted. 

For B.Tech at KCU, 50% seats are filled via JEE Main, and the other 50% through CUET UG. Students also need to participate in the counselling process if required. Application process is online, while  ₹500 is required for General/OBC/EWS and ₹100 for SC/ST/PwD categories.
