UPCETApplication Process for 2026: Important Dates, Fees, Payment Modes, Documents, and Admit Card Info

UPCET 2026 Admission is carried out online through UPTAC in two major phases:

1. Registration & Counselling on the UPTAC portal

2. Seat Allocation & Physical Reporting

Students must satisfy all eligibility criteria and execute the entire admission procedure for UG and PG courses from AKTU-affiliated colleges.

Phase 1: Registration and Counselling Online

Step 1: Registration and Fee Payment 

• Visit the official UPTAC portal, i.e., https://uptac.admissions.nic.in/ 
• Register using valid credentials and pay the ₹1000 counselling registration fee online.

Step 2: Document Uploading and Verification

• Upload documents required, e.g. 10, 12 mark-sheets, category certificate, domicile, etc. 
• The system verifies these uploaded documents virtually, as the whole process is online counselling.

Step 3: Filling and Locking of Choices

• After documents have been verified, choose the institutes and courses you wish to enrol in. 
• You can alter your choices in succeeding rounds (like floating, upgrading) before the last date for each round.

Phase 2: Seat Allotment and Admission

Step 1: Rounds of Seat Allotment 

UPTAC conducts multiple rounds (main + special). Seat allotment for UPCET takes place in the seat allotment round on the basis of merit, options filled by candidates, and seat availability.

Step 2: Acceptance/Payment of Fee

• After allotment, candidates can either freeze (confirm) the allotted seat or float (upgrade) the seat.
• Pay the seat confirmation fee and accept the allotted seat.

Step 3: Physical Reporting and Document Verification

• Report to the allotted institute with original documents and confirm the admission.
• In the event of a later upgrade round, candidates would have to re-report accordingly.

UPCET 2026 Admit Card will be released on the official portal after the application process in March 2026, after the final submission of the application form in December 2025. Candidates must carry a hard copy of the admit card on the date of the examination for successful entry into the exam hall.
