Students allotted seats in one of the NEET counseling rounds can select to opt for a better college in the next round. If a preferred seat gets allotted in the next round, then the previously allotted seat will become available or vacant for the others. The method of getting a new seat after an allotted seat is called seat upgradation.

Note: For the mop-up round and the other rounds following it, applicants will not have the option to upgrade seats. Applicants allotted seats in these rounds must report to their allotted colleges before and after the particular deadline.
