The Karnataka NEET Counselling 2026 dates have been declared on the official website. The KEA has extended the deadline for Karnataka NEET Counselling 2026 registration till 7 August 2026. Additionally, the Karnataka NEET roll number linking with the CET application is extended till 7 August, 2026.

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has activated the link for slot booking on its official website. The document verification 2026 dates has started from 4 August to 8 August 2026. Applicants who are looking for admission to BDS, MBBS, AYUSH and other undergraduate medical programs in Karnataka have to complete slot booking before they appear for the document verification process.

Applicants who have newly registered or claimed the reservation categories like NRI, minority, rural quota, or Kannada medium have to complete the verification process before the mentioned deadline. Candidates who have already downloaded the verification slips for the Karnataka UGCET admission process 2026 do not need to attend again.

The KEA has published the Karnataka NEET counselling 2026 information bulletin for St. John's Medical College. Applicants who have registered for KEA UGNEET 2026 and have linked their NEET roll number can book the slots currently for verification of documents. As declared by MCC, Karnataka NEET Counselling 2026 Round 1 will be conducted from 13 August to 22 August 2026.

The Karnataka NEET UG Counselling is carried out by the KEA for admissions to 85% state quota seats. The counselling for the remaining 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats is carried out by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Currently, there are around 15395 MBBS seats and 3405 BDS seats in government and private colleges in the state, giving admission to domicile and non-domicile candidates as per various quotas. All the counselling activities are carried out online using the official KEA Portals, where the candidates register, upload documents, exercise web options, and download allotment letters and view all counselling updates.

Karnataka NEET Counselling Process 2026

Online information provided by applicants within the application form for MBBS Counselling Karnataka 2026 can be treated as accurate, and requests for any change will no longer be entertained through KEA.

'Step 1: List of registered applicants

  • KEA releases the list of the applicants who had registered for the counselling of Karnataka NEET 2026.
  • This list can be accompanied by the agenda for offline verification of the documents. To continue further, all of the applicants need to finish the verification procedure.

Step 2: Verification of documents

  • Verification of documents can be done in order of the ranks of the applicants. Hence, all of the applicants are recommended to verify the rank range, date, and time of verification before reporting to the center. Candidates need to bring original documents and a self-attested copy to the verification center.
  • At the verification center, applicants will need to sign up once more and provide all of the vital data. The institution will verify the original documents and retain the copies. Candidates who complete the verification procedure successfully will get an acknowledgement slip.

Step 3: Secret Key and choice filling

  • Along with the acknowledgement slip, eligible applicants will also be provided with a secret key. This key is obligatory to fill with the choices inside the ‘Option-access portal.’ Candidates must keep the secret key to themselves and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • There is no restriction on access to options in Karnataka NEET counselling 2026. Options recorded on the last day of the notified schedule can be frozen and can be taken into consideration for seat allotment. Candidates need to note that this is a one-time technique only, and those who have entered options within the first round will not be allowed to choose options in the second round. However, they are allowed to make adjustments to the preferences.

Step 4: Seat allotment list

  • KEA will launch a list of the applicants who've been allocated a seat within the counselling of Karnataka.
  • These seat allotment lists can be prepared based on the merit of a candidate, and the selections filled through him/her.

Step 5: Post-allotment process

  • Candidates allotted a seat in the Karnataka NEET Counselling and who desire to continue with the same seat must complete verification at the legitimate website of KEA
  • The candidate must pay the prescribed fees for admission and report to the allotted institute with the admission order.

Karnataka NEET Domicile Criteria 2026

This segment provides exact information about KEA Karnataka NEET 2026 Domicile standards to all applicants applying to clinical and dental colleges. To qualify for Karnataka NEET state counselling, KEA has around 16 domicile criteria, of which applicants need to meet any of them:

Candidates must satisfy at least one of the KEA’s 16 domicile criteria. Some common criteria include:

  • Studied Classes 11 and 12 in Karnataka, with parents having studied at least 7 years in the state.
  • Studied for 7 years from Class 1 to 12 in Karnataka.
  • Parent/s working in the Defence Services posted in Karnataka.
  • Parent(s) serving in the Karnataka Government or Central Government, residing in Karnataka for at least 1 year.

What To Do After the 1st Round of Karnataka NEET Counselling 2026?

When the first round is finished, the candidates who have been allocated seats need to confirm their choice if they want to accept the seat or not. 

  • If they want to accept the seats allocated to them, then candidates have to pay the fee and deposit it in a particular college. 
  • After that, they will not be allowed to go for further rounds. 
  • Failing to report to the particular college and not paying the fee will result in the cancellation of the admission. 
  • When the candidate wants to go for further rounds even after getting a seat allocation in the first round, they can pay the fee and go for the second round. However, they must cancel their allotted seat to participate in the next round.
