MCC NEET UG 2026 Counselling: Total MBBS Seats Available

A total of 1,36,939 MBBS seats have been approved by the NMC for the MCC NEET UG Counseling 2026 admissions process at Indian government and private medical schools.

The most recent MBBS seat matrix shows that private medical schools provide 73,643 seats, while government medical schools offer 63,296. Compared to the previous academic session, this represents an overall increase of 9,911 MBBS seats.

Government medical colleges have added 2,111 new seats for the 2026–2027 academic year, while private institutions have added 7,800 new seats. With 325 more seats, West Bengal had the largest gain among government colleges, followed by Chhattisgarh (250), Andhra Pradesh (225), and Bihar (190). Karnataka added the most seats (1,150) in the private sector, followed by Rajasthan (900), Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh (each adding 800 seats).

NEET UG 2026 Counselling Reservation: Check MCC Reservation Rules

As per the Government of India's reservation policy, the following reservation criteria are applicable for admissions to Central Universities, Central Institutions, and participating medical colleges through MCC NEET UG 2026 counselling:
