NEET exam 2026 was conducted on 21st June 2026, and NTA has released the NEET 2026 Result on 16th July 2026 on the official website. Candidates appeared at the NEET 2026 Examination at 5,440 examination centres in 551 cities across India and 14 cities abroad, with nearly 20 lakh candidates appearing for the examination. In these, 11.21 lakh candidates qualified, and above 58% of the qualified candidates were women.
Aryan Gupta (Punjab) and Panshul Bansal from Haryana, both of whom scored 715 marks out of 720, shared the top marks. 19 candidates scored above 700 marks, 138 candidates scored more than 690 marks, 10,160 candidates scored more than 600 marks and 90,780 candidates scored more than 500 marks. Interestingly, 93% of the top scorers had been first-time aspirants and 99% were from the age group 17-19 years.
The candidates qualified in the examination from all 36 States and UTs. Uttar Pradesh had the maximum number of qualified candidates, and 17 state top performers achieved a mark of 700+ and 26 candidates of the state topped with a score of 700+. The top 138 were from 66 cities in India, showcasing the country's academic excellence.
On a category basis Re NEET 2026 Pass Marks, the OBC-NCL category had the maximum qualified candidates with 5.12 lakh as against 2.91 lakh in General, 1.59 lakh SC, 95,026 Gen-EWS, 63,716 ST, 3,666 PwBD and 303 PwD candidates. The NEET UG 2026 qualifying marks were 715 to 213 for the General (UR) category and 212 to 177 for OBC, SC and ST categories. The NEET UG 2026 counselling is in the first week of August 2026.
