350 New MBBS seats added in Khunti, Jamtara, Dhanbad, and Giridih Districts.
The Central Government has approved the establishment of four new medical colleges in Jharkhand under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The move is anticipated to give a big boost to healthcare infrastructure in the state.
The move will add 350 new MBBS seats in Khunti, Jamtara, Dhanbad, and Giridih.
Recently, over 10,000 MBBS seats were added across India.

Who Approved It and Why?
The approval came after a meeting of the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) under the Ministry of Finance in New Delhi.
Ajay Kumar Singh, Jharkhand’s Additional Chief Secretary of Health, gave the proposal under PPP Mode Medical College Establishment Scheme.
The underserved areas will benefit from this scheme, while NEET UG aspirants will have more opportunities to pursue medical education in Jharkhand.

Each institution will get a teaching hospital to extend its medical facilities and facilitate students with clinical exposure. According to official details:
