The news was announced when the CM was attending the inauguration of the Netaji Subhash Medical College and Hospital (NSMCH) in Jamshedpur.

Netaji Subhash Medical College Begins with 100 MBBS Seats
The inaugurated Netaji Subhash Medical College and Hospital will start with 100 MBBS seats. This college becomes the third medical college in the Kolhan region.
Jharkhand Currently Has 10 Medical Colleges
Jharkhand currently has 10 functional medical colleges and more than 200 nursing colleges. This number will be projected to double to 20 in the next four years. This vision is in alignment with the establishment of new medical colleges in the state by the 2030s. The new government medical colleges are under construction in:
- Bokaro
- Chaibasa
- Koderma
Earlier Expansion in Jharkhand’s NEET PG Seats
In September, the Central Government approved the establishment of four new medical colleges in Jharkhand under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The move adds 350 new MBBS seats in Khunti, Jamtara, Dhanbad, and Giridih. Recently, over 10,000 MBBS seats were added across India.

Jharkhand currently has nine medical colleges. A milestone was marked when AIIMS Deoghar was established in 2019. A few of Jharkhand’s MBBS colleges are:
