Tamil Nadu NEET PG Counselling is conducted for admission to MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses across private and medical colleges. This counselling is conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER). The number of PG seats for Tamil Nadu counselling in medical colleges is 4200. This includes 2,661 MD, 1,538 MS, and 48 PG Diploma seats.

921 Candidates Declared Ineligible in TN NEET PG Counselling 2025

A total of 921 candidates have been declared ineligible for Tamil Nadu NEET PG counselling 2025 due to incorrect and insufficient document verification. These candidates come under government, NRI, management and minority quotas. To rectify the mismatched documents, DMER Tamil Nadu also opened a correction window. No requests would be considered if the deadline is missed.

Tamil Nadu to Add 460 New PG Medical Seats in 2026

Tamil Nadu is about to add 460 new NEET PG seats across 13 government medical colleges from the 2026-27 academic year. The expansion spans MD General Medicine, MD Paediatrics, MS General Surgery, MS Orthopaedics, MD Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MD Radio Diagnosis, and MD Anaesthesiology. 

Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital (KCSSH), attached to Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, will get 28 new seats. The increase will be made in 7 specialities. 

In Tamil Nadu NEET PG Counselling 2025 Round 2, private colleges marked a push with the addition of 50 and 150 MBBS seats. Joining the trend, four deemed universities added approximately 100 MBBS seats each. The total additional NEET PG seats expected in Tamil Nadu for 2025 is about 1,750. Following the seat revision, 73 new PG medical seats were approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) for Tamil Nadu in 2025.
