Banaras Hindu University was established in 1916 and is one of the top-ranked universities in India. BHU is recognized by the UGC and is accredited by the NAAC with an ‘A’ grade. As per the NIRF ranking 2025, BHU has been ranked 6 in the ‘University’ category. BHU has also secured 60th place in Management, 6th place in Medical, and 17th place in Dental.
