Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research was established in 1984 by the Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational Trust under the able leadership of Dr. S Jagathrakshakan, located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research was affiliated with the Madras University and then Anna University, until UGC granted BIHER with a Deemed-to-be-University in 2002.
