After the JEE Main Exam Date 2026 registration window closes, the National Testing Agency (NTA) provides a form correction facility for candidates to update or modify details in their application.

  • Image Correction: A separate window is provided to correct uploaded images (photo/signature) if required.


JEE Main Exam Date 2026: Answer Key Release

After the JEE Main Exam Date 2026, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the provisional answer key on the official website along with the candidate response sheet and question paper.

  • Provisional Answer Key: Released shortly after the exam for candidates to check.
  • Challenge Window: Candidates can raise objections within 2 days of release.
  • Objection Fee: INR 200 per question for each challenge submitted.
  • Final Answer Key: NTA reviews all grievances and releases the JEE Main final answer key 2026.


JEE Main Exam Date 2026: Counselling Details

After the JEE Main Exam Date 2026 candidates who qualify are eligible to participate in the JOSAA counselling for admission to IIT, NIT, IIIT and GFTI.

  • Eligibility: Candidates must have a valid JEE Main score to register for JOSAA counselling. JEE Advanced qualifiers will be admitted to IIT.
  • Registration Process: Online registration is required, where candidates fill in their preferred institutes and branches.
  • Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted based on the choices filled by candidates. Applicants must exercise freeze, float or slide options as per their preference.
  • Confirmation: Candidates allotted seats must confirm their admission online and pay the required fees by the deadline mentioned in the provisional allotment letter.
  • Participating Institutes: Admissions through JOSAA include 23 IIT, 31 NIT, 25 IIIT and other GFTI.

FAQS

No, 75% marks in Class 12 are not required to appear for JEE Main 2026. However, for admission to NIT, IIIT, and GFTI, General/OBC/EWS candidates must have at least 75% marks or be in the top 20 percentile of their boards. SC/ST candidates need a minimum of 65% marks. This applies to eligibility for participating in counselling after the JEE Main Exam Date 2026.


There is no age limit to apply for JEE Main 2026. Candidates who have passed 10+2 in 2024, 2025 or are appearing in 2026 are eligible, irrespective of age, to appear on the JEE Main Exam Date 2026.

The admit card can be downloaded from the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates need to log in using their application number and date of birth. The admit card is required to enter the exam centre on the JEE Main Exam Date 2026.


Around 14–15 lakh candidates appear for JEE Main each year across both sessions (January and April) including first time and repeat candidates. All candidates appear according to their registered JEE Main Exam Date 2026.
