JEE Mains Application Process for 2025: Important Dates, Fees, Payment Modes, Documents, and Admit Card Info

JEE Mains Exam is conducted twice every year. The students who wish to take admissions in engineering programs especially in top engineering colleges like IITs and NITs can apply for the exam through an online exam portal available on the National Testing Agency (NTA) website. Check the steps below for the detailed registration process for the JEE Mains Exam.

JEE Mains Exam 2025 Application Process

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

• Visit the official NTA JEE Main website.
• Click on the “JEE Main 2025 Registration” link.

Step 2: New Registration / Login

• Click on the new registration if you are a new user, other click on the login button.
• Read the instructions and guidelines carefully, before starting filling the form.
• At the end of the information bulletin,there will be a check box for  “I have downloaded the Information Bulletin”, click tick on the box and press proceed.
• If you are an already registered user, fill your application number and password for the login purposes.

Step 3: Fill Registration Form

• Fill your personal details - name, father and mother name, DOB, gender, category, nationality, identity type, mobile number and mail ID in the application form.
• Create a password and add security questions for future login.

Step 4: Application Form Filling

• Once you have registered successfully, you will receive a confirmation on the registered mail ID and contact number. 
• Login to the portal using the User ID and Password.
• Complete the application form by filling the academic details, year of passing, subjects, scores and qualifying board.
• Choose the paper (BE/BTech, BArch, BPlanning) you want to appear for and the session (January/April).
• Choose the exam center city preference. The NTA allows up to 4 choices.
• Choose the medium of paper in which you wish to answer.

Step 5: Upload Documents

• Upload the required documents - photograph, signature, category certificate and marksheet in the requested format and size. Make sure that all the photographs and PDFs are clear and not older than 6 months.
• Check the document specifications in the table below.

Step 6: Application Fee Payment

• Once you are done with uploading the required documents and filling all the details, pay the registration fees for the exam.
• The fee may vary depending upon the category and gender.
• The available payment options are - Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card / UPI / Paytm Wallet.
• After successful payment, a Confirmation Page will be generated.

Step 7: Download Confirmation Page

• Download the confirmation page and application form for the future reference.

• Enter your application number and password.
• The admit card will be open on the window.
• Check the details and download the admit card.
