1. Understanding the MAT Exam Pattern: The MAT exam has five sections (i.e., Language Comprehension, Intelligence & Reasoning, Mathematical Skills, Indian & Global Environment, and Data Analysis and Sufficiency). Each section contains 30 questions; therefore, there are a total of 150 questions in the MAT, to be completed within 120 minutes.

2. Plan your study process: You should create a study plan, giving extra time to sections you need to improve, and set daily and weekly goals to follow.

3. Emphasize concept clarity: Strong basics in mathematics, reasoning, and English are essential. Use standard books and study materials to practice formulas, shortcuts, and tricks to solve problems quickly.

4. Use previous question papers: Solving previous years’ question papers can help you:

  • Understand the trends of questions and their level of difficulty.
  • Identify frequently asked topics and important areas.
  • Increase your speed and accuracy by practicing under timed conditions.

5. Attempt Mock Tests Regularly: Solving MAT exam mock tests helps you:

  • Simulate real exam conditions.
  • Analyze mistakes and work on weak areas.
  • Track progress to improve performance.

6. Time Management: The MAT exam is divided into 5 sections; candidates must divide their time wisely among different sections.

7. Strengthen Vocabulary and Reading Skills: To score high in the language section, candidates must focus on strengthening their vocabulary. Some effective ways are:

  • Read newspapers, magazines, and business articles daily.
  • Learn new words, synonyms, and antonyms.
  • Practice comprehension passages for better reading speed.

8. Stay Updated with General Knowledge: To get a decent score in the MAT exam 2026, keeping yourself updated with current affairs is very important.
