MAT Exam Syllabus 2026: Section-wise Topics & Download AIMA MAT Syllabus PDF

The syllabus of MAT is quite similar to that of CMAT and NMAT, yet there are some differences.

• CMAT has an additional section of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, which is not present in MAT.
• NMAT has more logic-oriented questions and is slightly more difficult compared to MAT.
• MAT provides you with more time per question, so it is a more laid-back experience compared to NMAT.

In general, MAT is easier in question type and difficulty level.

MAT 2026 examination consists of a total of 5 sections. Each section consists of 30 questions and each section carries the same weightage of 20%. The following is a basic distribution of marks and weightage:

• Language Comprehension (30 marks) - 20%
• Mathematical Skills (30 marks) - 20%
• Data Analysis & Sufficiency (30 marks) - 20%
• Intelligence & Reasoning (30 marks) - 20%
• Indian & Global Environment (30 marks) - 20%

As of now, there are no major changes expected in the MAT 2026 syllabus. All the sections and topics will likely remain the same as in MAT 2025. However, minor updates in the GK section topics may occur to match recent global and national news.

Most experts recommend 3 to 4 months to cover the entire MAT 2026 syllabus of preparation for the MAT exam. On an average, students must study for around 2 to 3 hours daily to complete the syllabus on time. Regular mock tests, sectional practice, and solving previous year papers are very helpful for effective preparation.
