National Exit Test
Overview
The candidates must satisfy certain parameters to be able to register and practice medicine or undertake postgraduate studies in AYUSH disciplines in India through NExT. Parameters include internship status, course recognition, and regulations list to Indian and Foreign graduates.

Interns | Those are interns with at least 270 days of internship completed by the last date of the NExT application. |
Graduates | Those are Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, and Sowa-Rigpa graduates who are deemed to have completed a 1-year compulsory internship. |
Foreign Nationals | Must be holders of qualifications recognised under Schedule-III of the IMCC Act, 1970 or Section 36 of the NCISM Act, 2020. |

Eligibility
The eligibility details for the NEXT exam 2025 are mentioned below:
1. Applicability Date:
Candidates who began their internship on or after 20 December 2023 must mandatorily follow NExT guidelines, regardless of their admission year.
2. Number of Attempts:
There is no limit on the number of attempts to appear for NExT.
3. Partially Completed Internship:
Registration is allowed only after full internship completion, even if the candidate has already passed NExT.
4. Non-Qualified Candidates:
Those who do not qualify for NExT may still use their degree for non-clinical jobs or academic programmes that do not require medical registration.
5. Mandatory for Practice/PG:
NExT is compulsory for:
- Medical registration
- Clinical employment
- Admission to PG courses in Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, and Sowa-Rigpa
6. Qualifying Percentage:
The minimum passing marks or qualifying percentage will be notified by the regulatory authority.

Syllabus
NExT conducts two exams — NExT-1 and NExT-2. For the syllabus, both exist with the MBBS course, testing academic as well as clinical skills.

- Start Early: Ten to twelve months before the exam, commence with final-year MBBS subjects.
- Follow Standard Textbooks: Emphasise clinical subjects- pharmacology, surgery, or OBG.
- Practice Clinical MCQs: Use applications like Prepladder, Marrow, or Bhatia.
- Conceptualising: NExT is case-based; it tests clinical reasoning, not rote learning.
- Regular Revision: Employ spaced repetition, weekly mocks, etc., to mark weak areas.
