Madhepura has been added to the approved list with 12 new DNB seats. This is part of the long-term plan to strengthen specialist presence in Government and private medical colleges in Bihar. In the Health Department’s words, these additions build on 3,000+ MBBS seats in Bihar.

12 New DNB Seats Approved, More Under Review
Officials confirmed that a proposal for more DNB seats is currently pending and requested under the National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences (NBEMS). If approved, this addition will complement the latest one.
Diving deeper into the seats revision, 192 were approved under the DNB programme before. Now, an additional 12 seats have been sanctioned.

PG Training in All 35 District Hospitals
Medical colleges and district hospitals have been directed to send proposals for more PG seats. The goal is to make all existing 35 district hospitals part of the PG education system.
As the present scenario depicts:
- Nine out of ten medical colleges in Bihar have PG seats.
- 50% of all PG seats will be reserved for students graduating from Bihar’s medical colleges.
- With more districts joining the network, this will offer broader pathways for medical aspirants.
