Today we will talk about a very important topic that is MCC Counselling 2025 and its various rounds, like MCC Counselling Round 1, MCC Counselling Round 2, MCC Counselling Mop-Up Round, and MCC Counselling Stray Vacancy Round.  Maybe all these rounds’ names look complicated, but in this blog we will explain the meaning and difference between all these rounds. We will also highlight the MCC counselling round difference in a simple and clear way.

What is MCC Counselling?

MCC stands for Medical Counselling Committee; this committee conducts counselling rounds in India for Medical and Dental courses with the help of NEET Entrance Exams. Through MCC, counseling seats are allocated to students in various government and central medical colleges.

What is MCC Counselling Round 1?

MCC Counselling Round 1 is the very first and most important phase of medical counselling rounds. In this round, students select their preferred colleges for seats in national and central medical colleges. In this round, students choose and lock their seats based on their NEET score and course eligibility. Students who got selected in this round will have to pay a compulsory fee for a counselling session and must complete other document verification processes within the given time period. This round is crucial because the best options are available in this round, and students with higher ranks have a high chance to secure their preferred seats first.

What is MCC Counselling Round 2?

MCC counselling round 2 is basically the same process that happens after MCC Counselling Round 1. The main objective of this round is to give an opportunity to those students who could not get a seat in Round 1 or those who have left their Round 1 seat. In MCC counselling round 2, available seats and left-out options are available to students. Students get the opportunity to select their preferred colleges.

What is the MCC Counselling Mop-Up Round?

When MCC counselling round 2 ends, then MCC starts the MCC Mop-Up round. The purpose of this round is still similar to the previous 2 rounds, which is filling left-out vacant seats. This round can result in being beneficial or useful for those students who didn’t get a seat in the first 2 rounds or for those who want to change their seats. In the MCC Mop-Up Round, seats that remain vacant after Round 2 are available for students who can once again choose colleges, but seats are limited, so quick decisions are necessary.

What is the MCC Counselling Stray Vacancy Round?

MCC counselling Stray Vacancy Round is the last and final phase of MCC Counselling. This round comes after the MCC Mop-Up Round, and only those seats that remain vacant after the Mop-Up round are filled here. In the MCC Stray Vacancy Round, medical colleges directly admit students to the vacant seats. The MCC counselling process is completely over by this round. This round is for students who want a last chance to get admission to medical or dental colleges. Often, this round is the easiest round of all the other 3 for students who faced difficulties in previous rounds.
