The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has directed the states to pause the NEET PG 2025 Round 3 counselling. The reported reason for this hiatus is the pending approval of the revised percentile eligibility. MCC further said that the order applies to both All India Quota (AIQ) and state-level medical counselling. Contributing to the longstanding uncertainty in NEET PG Counselling 2025, this halt has made the situation severe for several medical candidates who are awaiting admission.

According to the MCC, the notice has been formally communicated to State Directors of Medical Education (DMEs), Vice Chancellors, and Medical Education Secretaries.

The earlier developments also flagged NEET PG Counselling Delays due to Legal Matters.

MCC on NEET PG 2025 Round 3 Counselling Schedule

The eligibility revision process is going through some changes, which will cause the revision in percentile eligibility. The timeline can not be finalized until the authorities approve the revised percentile eligibility criteria. Stating the very reason, MCC said that the Round 3 counselling timeline will be uploaded only after the changes get formal approval from the competent authority. 


Hence, the MCC has strictly asked states not to move forward in the counselling process. The cessation of state-level counselling is to ensure that the unsynchronised schedules do not create inconsistencies in the states, MCC communicated.


AIQ and State Counselling to Be Announced Together

This approach will make the whole process uniform. MCC will release the dates simultaneously:

  • The AIQ Round 3 counselling schedule
  • The corresponding state counselling timelines


Can Candidates Register Fresh for NEET PG Round 3?

Yes. Fresh registrations are allowed in NEET PG 2025 Round 3 counselling. These students can participate:

  • Did not register in Round 1
  • Skipped Round 2


Will New Seats Be Available in NEET PG Round 3?

Yes. MCC will provide new seats in Round 3:

  • Vacancies unfilled after Round 2
  • Virtual vacancies 

Round 3 holds utmost importance for those who can not get a seat in Round 2 and missed narrowly.


Disability Assessment Update for PwD Candidates

Dr Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, New Delhi, has currently suspended visual disability assessment services. Though the modification is temporary, and in accordance with the MCC notification. Now, RML Hospital will be the assessment centre for NEET PG counselling.

NEET PG 2025 Round 3: Seat Matrix and Cut-off Outlook

The competition dips once the counselling process reaches Round 2. High-merit students are already allotted seats, so the chances of any big change are low. 

What will MCC NEET PG Round 3 offers:

  • Virtual vacancies from upgraded candidates

The seats in Round 3 will be the result of multiple revisions in the seat matrix, as one instance is when NEET PG seats were withdrawn after Round 1.
