In previous hearings, the Supreme Court has also demanded clarity in NEET PG results.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has extended the choice-filling for NEET PG Counselling 2025 Round 1. The extension has come after the National Board of Examinations (NBE) withdrew 169 DNB PG seats from the ongoing counselling process.

The revision has forced the committee to halt the previous published deadlines and announce a revised schedule soon on mcc.nic.in.

Recently, NEET PG 2025 Seat Matrix was revised as 103 seats were withdrawn from Round 1.

Why Has the Delay Happened?

NBE and NMC shared some fresh updates on the NEET PG seat matrix. The seat matrix directly affects the choice filling preferences of students, so students can comprehend the changes and make informed choices. MCC has paused timelines. This will give applicants enough time to review all the updates and decide accordingly.

Choice Filling Extended Until Further Notice

According to MCC’s official notice: “The Choice Filling for Round-1 of PG Counselling 2025 has been extended until further notice.” If we look at the old schedule, Round 1 choice filling was supposed to end on 5 November. The seat allotment result was expected on 8 November.

Now, all these dates stand paused as the latest schedule is awaited.

Other Seat Reductions Reported Too

Other reductions also followed, apart from the 169 DNB seats withdrawn. MCC has ensured that the finalised matrix will be uploaded soon.

State-wise impact:

  • Gujarat: 39 seats reduced
  • Jammu and Kashmir: 12 seats
  • Uttar Pradesh: 9 seats
  • Telengana: 4 seats
  • West Bengal: 2 seats
  • Chhattisgarh: 7 seats

PwD Portal Still Active

The PwD certificate portal for Round 1 is open till 5 pm, 8 November 2025. PwD candidates must get assessed only at MCC-approved disability centres as per NMC.

Supreme Court Also Seeks Clarity

In parallel, the Supreme Court has asked to disclose publishing rules of NEET PG answer keys to NBE. The court reiterated the transparency concerns. The case is being heard based on multiple petitions by candidates. Data privacy breach issues were also flagged by NEET PG candidates.

In earlier hearings, the apex court ordered to publish raw scores, answer keys and normalisation formulas for NEET PG.
