The new AIIMS Deoghar (central government) has 7 MD/MS seats (all through AIQ). New government colleges like Hazaribag and Palamu are still ramping up and may start PG seats soon. No private medical college in Jharkhand currently has its own MD/MS seats (Laxmi Chandravanshi Medical College – Palamu is new and has no PG yet).

In addition to MD/MS and Diploma, Jharkhand offers DNB (Diplomate of National Board) seats in a few private hospitals (all filled through NBE counselling). For 2024, NBEMS lists (for Jharkhand) 2 DNB seats in Pediatrics at Asarfi Hospital and 4 DNB seats in Ophthalmology at Kashyap Memorial Eye Hospital, among others. Reservation Categories

Jharkhand follows its state reservation rules for state-quota PG seats. Generally about 27% OBC, 15% SC, 7.5% ST, 10% EWS, and the remaining UR (unreserved) share are applied, along with horizontal reservations (e.g. PH). Seat Allocation Process

Jharkhand medical PG seats are filled by counselling. By NMC rules, 50% of seats are All-India Quota (AIQ) and 50% are State Quota. All-India seats are allotted nationally via MCC counselling, while Jharkhand’s 50% state quota is allotted by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB). The general process for state-quota (JH NEET PG) is:
