NEET UG 2026 Cancelled: National Testing Agency has cancelled the NEET UG 2026 exam, conducted on May 3, 2026.  As per the report, this major decision has been taken by the NTA due to allegations of NEET 2026 paper leak

NEET exam will now be conducted again on revised dates and the new date sheet will be announced by NTA. Candidates will not have to register again for the exam or pay the extra exam fee. NTA has taken a very big decision that affected over 22 lakh medical aspirants. It has triggered questions around exam security, student stress and the credibility of the national testing process. 


What Has NTA Said?

As per NTA, the decision to cancel NEET UG 2026 was taken with the approval of the Government of India. The National Testing Agency said the current examination process could not be allowed to stand after investigative inputs were reviewed.

The matter has now been referred to the Central Bureau of Investigation for a detailed probe. NTA said it will cooperate with the investigation and provide all records and materials required by the agency.

  • May 2: The student reportedly shared the PDF with his father in Sikar.

What Happened in the Investigation So Far 

Many news reports say the Rajasthan Special Operations Group arrested several people in connection with the alleged NEET UG 2026 paper leak. The names reported include Manish Yadav and Rakesh Mandwaria. The Nashik Crime Branch in Maharashtra also reported a separate arrest. 

Investigators are looking into a possible multi-state network. The alleged trail has links to Rajasthan, Haryana and Maharashtra, according to reports.


Will Students Need To Register Again for NEET UG 2026 Exam?

No. NTA has clarified that candidates do not need to register again for NEET 2026. Their existing application forms, candidature details and exam centre preferences from the May 2026 cycle will remain valid. NTA also said that students do not need to pay any additional examination fee for the re-conducted NEET UG 2026.
