Uttar Pradesh Mop-Up Round 2025: Eligibility and Seat Allotment Explained

Welcome to the Uttar Pradesh Mop-Up Round 2025 - a final shot for thousands of medical students who just missed the chance in the last rounds.

Conducted by the Directorate General of Medical Education and Training, Uttar Pradesh (DGME UP), UP NEET UG Counselling is the process for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in Uttar Pradesh. The eligibility criteria to apply for UP state counselling is the student must have qualified NEET UG exam.

The process consists of registration, document verification, choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting to the allotted college. There are multiple rounds such as Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up, and Stray Vacancy Round.

UP NEET UG Counselling 2025 Schedule (All Rounds)

To get the idea of the process and upcoming rounds, you will need to check the schedule:

Round 1

• You need to fill the choices and lock it.
• Results will be announced
• You will report to college.

Round 2

• Missed students will file a fresh registration
• Seats will be allotted.
• You will report to college.

Mop-Up Round

• Missed students will again register
• Seats will be allotted
• You will report to college

Stray Vacancy Round

• Final vacant seats will be filled directly by colleges on merit basis.

First Thing First: Eligibility for UP NEET Counselling 2025

Before you start dreaming about a Stethoscope and white coat, be practical. You can not just jump into UP NEET Counselling because you are feeling like it. There are some boxes that must be ticked, some rules to be followed. 

Lets go over:

• You Must Have Qualified NEET UG 2025: It sounds obvious that you secure the minimum qualifying percentile in the NEET UG 2025 examination, just not attempt it. If you miss it, even the Mop Up Round will not save you. 
• Domicile Rules: For 85% state quota seats, you must be domiciled in Uttar Pradesh. But here is a small loophole. If you have done your 10th and 12th from UP, you do not need to show proof, your school life is enough for that.
• Educational Qualification: You Must have passed Class 12 with subjects

1. Physics
2. Chemistry
3. Biology/Biotechnology
4. English

•    Age Check: You Must be at least 17 years old by December 31, 2025. There is no upper age limit. 

If you have ticked all the boxes, congrats. You are in for a race.

Who is Eligible for Uttar Pradesh Mop-Up Round 2025

Along with the above eligibility criteria you also see whether you have everything for Mop Up or not.

You can participate if:

• You registered for UP NEET Counselling but did not get any seat in Round 1 and 2.
• You got a seat in previous Rounds but did not take admission and did not join.
• You did not participate in previous Rounds but want to now.
• You are a fresh applicant and ready to register during the mop up window. 

You can not participate if:

• You took the admission in Round 1 or 2 and still have that seat.
• You have joined your firstly allotted college.
• You refused the seat in Round 1 and did not do anything after.

2. Fresh Registration (If you have missed before)

You need to pay the registration fee, around INR 2,000, non-refundable. 

3. Security Deposit

MBBS aspirants pay INR 30,000 FOR Government Colleges.

INR 2,00,000 for Private ones.

4. Choice Filling

Here you need to think wisely and be precise in picking up the colleges because there are no do-overs.

5. Lock the Choice

This is the important one, locking your choices.

6. Seat Allotment Result

Check your portal on the result day, that dashboard holds your fate.

7. Download Allotment Letter and Report

If you have got a seat, great, pack your bags, because it is your ticket. Keep a close look on the deadlines.

UG NEET Counselling Documents Required

After allotment there is a lot of paperwork and documentation.  The students need have them prepared already, such as: 

• Allotment Letter
• NEET UG 2025 Admit Card & Scorecard
• Class 10 & 12 Certificates
• Domicile (if needed)
• Caste Certificate (if applicable)
• ID Proof (Aadhaar, Passport, etc.)
• Passport Size Photos

What If You Still Not Get The Seat In  UP NEET Mop Up Round?

It is harsh  but it is the truth and it happens. Even in the Mop Up Round candidates are more than the seats. So if luck still does not smile, you are okay because you have a Stray Vacancy Round.

• Try Stray Vacancy Round though it is only for Private Colleges.
• You can prepare again, take a drop. It is tough but worth it.
• Try abroad. It will be affordable and globally competent.
• Explore other courses like BAMS, BHMS, BPT.

The Mop Up Rounds are neither magic nor some mercy round where seats fall in your lap. Mop Ups are also not always about the leftover seats but about second chances. A student gives everything to this NEET exam and this is what this exam asks, your everything. So you need to and must do everything to become the doctor you have always dreamt of. You need to be the sharpest, quickest. The clock is ruthless but if you do get a seat of your name, it is all worth it.
