JEE Advanced is a nationwide engineering entrance test, administered to allow admission to undergraduate engineering programmes at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). It is the second phase (immediately after JEE Main) and is an offline test (in the form of a computer-based test) comprising a series of IIT zones in India.
JEE Advanced 2026 Online registration will start on April 23, 2026 (10:00 IST) for Indian candidates and April 06, 2026, for foreign/OCI/PIO candidates. The application form should be submitted on or before May 02, 2026, and the payment of the fee is due on or before May 04, 2026. The admit card will be downloaded between May 11 and May 17, 2026, and the test will be done on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
In order to apply, candidates need to go to jeeadv.ac.in and log in with their application number(s) and passwords of the JEE Main 2026. The applicants must complete personal and academic information, select the preferences of the exam cities, and provide scanned documents and remit the application fee through online debit/credit cards, net banking, or UPI, etc. The application is thought to be complete when the fees have been paid successfully, and then the candidates are supposed to download and print out the confirmation page.
Indian female, SC, ST, and PwD candidates will have to pay ₹1,600, whereas Indian General and OBC-NCL will have to pay ₹3,200 as the application fee. OCI/PIO applicant fees vary between ₹1,600 and ₹3,200, and foreign nationals must pay between $100-200, depending on the category.
Applicants should come within the 2,50, 000 qualifiers of JEE Advanced 2026 (B.E./B.Tech). The age clause will have a requirement that the candidates must be born on or after 1st October 2001, with a five-year concession of the same among the SC, ST, and PwD candidates. This will be limited to two attempts in succession years, and the candidates must have taken the Class 12 examination first in 2025 or 2026 with compulsory subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

1. Visit Official Website
Go to the official JEE Advanced site at jeeadv.ac.in once the application link is live.
2. Login With JEE Main Credentials
- Enter your JEE Main 2026 application number and password.
- This authenticates you and lets you start filling the advanced form.
- Some details may auto-populate from the JEE Main database.
3. Fill In Personal & Academic Details
Provide:
- Personal information (name, DOB, contact, etc.)
- Academic information (qualifying exam details)

Exam Day Instructions
Here are the following instructions laid down by the authority. Students must follow the guidelines mentioned below.
- Candidates MUST carry a printed copy of the admit card and their valid original photo identity card (any one of the following: Aadhaar Card, School/College/Institute ID, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, PAN Card, Notarised Certificate with photograph) for the examination.
- Only candidates having a valid admit card and a photo identity card will be allowed to write the examination.
- If the identity of the candidate is in doubt, the candidate may not be allowed to appear for the examination.
- No extra time will be allowed for completing the examination in lieu of the time taken for completing these formalities.
- Only pens, pencils, drinking water in a transparent bottle, a downloaded admit card and an original photo identity card are allowed to be taken inside the examination hall.
- The following items will NOT be allowed inside the examination centre: watches, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, 40 microphones, pagers, health bands or any other electronic gadgets, any printed/blank/hand written paper, log tables, writing pads, scales, eraser, geometry/pencil-boxes, pouches, calculators, pen drives, electronic pens/Scanner, wallets, handbags, camera, goggles or similar such items.
- Candidates are advised NOT to wear charms/taweez, items containing metals such as rings, bracelets, earrings, nose pins, chain/necklaces, pendant, badge, brooch, or clothes with big buttons. They are also advised to wear open footwear like chappals and sandals.
- Any other item that could be used for unfair means, or for hiding communication devices like a microchip, camera, Bluetooth device, etc., is not permitted.
- Candidates are strongly advised to bring drinking water in a transparent bottle.
- Candidates must report to the examination centres well in advance and carry out the requisite formalities, which will be mentioned in the admit card. Examination centres shall remain open from 07:00 IST.
- Candidates arriving at the examination centre after commencement of the examination in each paper (09:00 IST for Paper 1 and 14:30 IST for Paper 2) will not be allowed to take the examination under any circumstances. The main entrance of the examination centre will be closed at 9:00 hrs (IST) for Paper 1 and at 14:30 hrs (IST) for Paper 2.
- Appearing in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 is compulsory. Therefore, the responses of ONLY those candidates who have appeared for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be evaluated/graded.
