JEE Advanced 2026 Exam Details Overview

JEE Advanced 2026 is a national-level engineering entrance examination conducted for admission to undergraduate programs at IITs and other participating institutes. The JEE Advanced 2026 exam date is May 17, 2026, and the examination will be held in two sessions on the same day. Paper 1 will be conducted between 09:00-12:00 IST and Paper 2 between 14:30-17:30 IST, and each paper will last 3 hours. The test is going to be administered in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and will consist of various types of questions that will include MCQs, questions of numerical values, and multiple-choice questions that will also have positive and negative marking options.

Candidates must qualify for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 (January 2026) or Session 2 (April 2026) to be eligible. The JEE Advanced 2026 registration date for JEE Main-qualified candidates starts on April 23, 2026, while registration for foreign nationals and OCI/PIO candidates begins on April 6, 2026. The exam fees are ₹3,200 for General/OBC-NCL candidates and ₹1,600 for Indian female, SC, ST, and PwD candidates.

The IITs will administer the exam on a rotating basis through the Joint Admission Board (JAB). The JEE Advanced 2026 syllabus is based on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics aligned with Class 11 and 12 curricula.
