Overview
West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination(WBJEE) is a state-level Common Entrance Examination for undergraduate engineering, pharmacy, and architecture courses in West Bengal and is conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board(WBJEEB).
The WBJEE 2025 results are scheduled for around July 2025. In 2024, around 130,000 candidates took part in it. Exam difficulty level is moderate to high. The questions are set at the 10+2 level.
The WBJEE scores are accepted by different government and private institutions throughout West Bengal. WBJEE Exam Pattern 2025
WBJEE is conducted in offline mode with two papers: Mathematics (Paper I) and Physics and Chemistry (Paper II).
There are three types of questions:
Category I (single correct answer)
Category II (one correct answer with higher weightage)
Category III (numerical answer type)
Negative marking applies in Categories I and II. Each paper is to be completed in two hours. Engineering-inclined students have to take both sections, but students planning on studying drug manufacturing only have to write Paper II. Read below to know about the WBJEE exam pattern in detail.

WBJEE 2025 Exam Day Guidelines & Dress
WBJEE has some strict guidelines that candidates must follow, including reporting times, dress codes, identification, and many more. Read below to know about the exam day guidelines and dress codes of WBJEE.
- The candidates should arrive at their assigned examination centres at least one hour before the exam starts. The entry gates close 15 minutes before the exam, and no candidate will be allowed after this time.
- The WBJEE admit card, valid photo identification, and an ordinary transparent ball pen are the only items that will be allowed in the exam hall.
- The use of electronic equipment such as cell phones, calculators, smart watches, and any communication devices is highly prohibited within the examination room.
- The OMR sheet and question papers must be filled in with a pencil. One is not allowed to use ink pens or gel pens to mark answers.
- It is not permitted to carry any form of study material, papers, or notes into the exam hall. It is prohibited to eat or drink in the exam room.
WBJEE Dress Code
WBJEE has a fixed dress code, and candidates must follow it.
- Applicants must wear light and simple clothes on the day of the exam.
- Do not wear anything clothes with heavy embroidery, buttons, and other metallic objects because they are likely to attract a security check or cause a delay at the gate.
Things to Avoid During the Exam
WBJEE has a list of prohibited items that is crucial for candidates to note. These include carrying electronic gadgets, wrong OMR sheet filling, and many more.
- Do not bring any phones, mobiles, calculators, or smart watches into the examination halls.
- Do not be Late. Candidates must arrive 15 minutes before the exam starts.
- Fill the OMR answer sheet attentively. Prevent smudges, missing, and incomplete marks.
- Consuming something at the exam centre is prohibited. The candidates are not allowed to take breaks during the exam to get refreshments.
- The candidates are not allowed to leave the hall until the exam is over without the authorisation of the invigilators. Security issues can arise through early departure, which may interfere with the exam setting.
WBJEE 2025 Answer Key
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) normally releases the provisional answer key within 5 to 7 days of conducting the exam. These answer keys have the correct answers to every objective-type question that was given in Paper I (Mathematics) and Paper II (Physics and Chemistry). Answer key also exists as a PDF that can be downloaded in the official website, wbjeeb.nic.in. Before the final publication of the results, candidates should cross-check their recorded answer with this key to have some preliminary self-evaluation.
WBJEE Results 2025
WBJEE results are expected to be released in July 2025. WBJEE score card provides information about the marks scored by the candidate in physics, chemistry, and mathematics, along with the aggregate score. The successful students are awarded with a rank in the whole country (All India Rank), and category-wise ranks (SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B) as well as PwD ranks. The scorecard will be needed for the allocation of the seats.

WBJEE 2025 Counselling
The counselling is handled totally online by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB). Usually, it begins in July, a few weeks after results come out. The counseling process includes registration, choice filling, seat assignment, and document checking. WBJEE's counseling includes at least two rounds of seating arrangement along with a mop-up round.
There is a ₹500 enrollment fee for each round of counseling, which is non-refundable and paid by net banking, UPI, or credit/debit card.
