WBJEE Exam Pattern

WBJEE 2026 will be held in offline (OMR-based) mode, and it contains 2 papers: Mathematics (Paper I) and Physics & Chemistry (Paper II). The method of learning will be presented in two parts of two hours each.

The question paper is structured in three categories. Category I consists of single correct questions totaling 1 mark each that come with negative marking. Single-correct questions are also present in Category II, which has 2 marks each and reverse marking. Category III includes questions of a type that require numerical answers and are believed to promise 2 marks each, and the highlight here is that there is no negative marking in Category III.

Both Paper I and Paper II will be a requisite for any Engineering aspirant. Applicants who have applied to Pharmacy / Drug Manufacturing courses must take only Paper II.

West Bengal Joint Examinations Board (WBJEEB) will announce a provisional answer key of WBJEE 2026 5 to 7 days after the examination. In the answer key, there will be the official answers to all questions (of the objective type) asked in both the papers I (Mathematics) and II (Physics and Chemistry).

Official site wbjeeb.nic.in will provide the answer key in PDF format can be downloaded by the candidates. Judging their performance by analyzing the official answers to questions matched with theirs, students can make their self-assessment based on the answers and predict the possible level of the score even before the outcomes are announced.
