The Admit Card is to be carried to the Examination Center.

Ques: When will the FMGE June 2026 result be declared?

Ans: The FMGE June 2026 result was released on 7th July 2026. The candidates appearing in the examination on June 28, 2026, will be able to check their examination result online on the official NBEMS website. The scorecard will be available on the official website by 16th June 2026.

Ques: When will the FMGE June 2026 exam be conducted?

Ans: The official date of the FMGE June 2026 exam was June 28, 2026. The exam will be conducted in a computer-based test format at the computer test centres located in India. The candidates have to appear in the centres allotted them as per the schedule given in their admit cards. Examination is held to evaluate the competency of the foreign medical graduates who wish to apply for registration to practice medicine in India.

Ques: How much does FMGE cost?

Ans: The fee for the application for FMGE is Rs. 7,080 (GST will apply). The payment of the fee will be online using a payment option provided on the NBEMS payment portal during registration. In most cases, the fee is not refundable and must be paid prior to the application deadline. Candidates are required to fill in all the required details before the fee is paid, and incomplete applications will be rejected even if the fee is paid.

Ques: What is the eligibility certificate for FMGE 2026?

Ans: FMGE Eligibility Certificate is an official certificate granted by the National Medical Commission (NMC), which certifies that the foreign medical qualification of a candidate fulfills the requirements for giving the FMGE. It certifies that the candidate has completed medical studies from a recognized institution and that he/she meets the requirements set forth by the regulatory bodies for medical licensure in India. The certificate is important in the process of validating foreign medical credentials.

Ques: What is the mark distribution for FMGE 2026?

Ans: The FMGE is divided into two papers of 150 questions each for a total of 300. The exam comprises pre-clinical, para-clinical, and clinical subjects, which are taught in the MBBS course. The candidates must obtain a minimum of 150/300 marks (50%) to pass. There is no negative marking – candidates can try all the questions.

Ques: Which country has the highest FMGE pass percentage?

Ans: The percentage of students passing FMGE exams is different from year to year and is subject to various factors such as the quality of the curriculum and students' preparation. In the past, the Philippines and Nepal have had somewhat higher pass percentages for medical graduates in the FMGE. However, students from other nations such as Russia, China or Ukraine have often been found to be less successful in passing tests. But, the personal preparation and understanding of FMGE syllabus is the most crucial factor.

Ques: What is the 54-month rule for FMGE?

Ans: For candidates who studied medicine in a foreign medical institution, they are required to study medicine there for a minimum of 54 months as per the 54 months rule. This includes the period of time that is required for mandatory internships and clinical training, which can be completed over a period of time. The rule provides for candidates to get sufficient medical education, both theoretical and practical education, which is equivalent in standards to India before the appointment to the FMGE and registration as Medical Doctors in India.

Ques: How many attempts are allowed in FMGE?

Ans: There is no limit on the number of attempts for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination. Candidates who fail to qualify in one attempt can reappear for the next FMGE session till they pass the exam. This flexibility enables foreign medical graduates to enhance their preparation and eventually qualify for registration and medical practice in India as per the qualification requirements.

Ques: How long is the FMGE result valid for?

Ans: Passing the FMGE result is valid for applying for registration with the NMC or the State Medical Council for all future purposes. After a candidate qualifies, he/she is not required to reappear for the examination. They are subject to all the requirements and procedures for registration, except for internship requirements.

Ques: Is FMGE tougher than NEET PG?

Ans: FMGE and NEET PG are two different purposes and therefore are two different challenges. FMGE is dedicated to assessing the competency level of foreign medical graduates to practice medicine in India, whereas NEET PG is a competitive entrance exam for admissions into post-graduate medical programs. The pass rates in FMGE seem to be low, whereas NEET PG is very competitive because of the fewer seats available in the PG courses.

Ques: How does one apply for an eligibility certificate through FMGE?

Ans: The candidates will apply for the FMGE Eligibility Certificate via the NMC official website. Applicants must provide personal information, educational details, proof of citizenship, passport details and other supporting documents as specified. Based on the verification, NMC provides a certificate of eligibility to eligible candidates. This certificate is issued after fulfilling the requirements to be eligible to continue with foreign medical education and appear in FMGE in India.
